May you never...

...go without the essentials. Food, drink, shelter, love and music. Everything else is a bonus, but these are the things you need. And here at Seahouse, we try and provide you with at least one of life's essentials (until we open our chain of budget hotels).

This Sunday sees our sixth Seahouse Showcase, our semi-regular live events where we bring in-person experiences of the music we record. Our hosts again are BUMS (Barrow Underground Music Society), and we have an all-dayer planned, featuring top Seahouse acts plus some special guests too.

The event starts at 2pm, and goes on 'til late, and is yours for just a fiver.

Jamie Bosanko (full band)

Jonny Swift (solo)

Emker Cel (solo, live bass and vocals)

Prater Monks

Insula

plus special guests Jorgie Sam Wilson, Alcove, and Chris Garratt.

It's a relatively quiet month for releases, but there's nothing quiet about the next single from Jonny Swift. Pigsty is a raucous little number, influenced by the likes of Public Image Limited, Sleaford Mods and The Fall, Pigsty could be the kind of song that is sung around school playgrounds without the teachers having a clue what it is.

Do yourselves a favour,

be a Pigsty pre-saver!

Elsewhere, our first Seahouse Records Podcast is now on Spotify and is getting rave reviews. One listener even claimed that "Matt is Barrow's answer to Michael Parkinson", which we'll take.

The April Bags Of Love Podcast featured Jonny Swift, PaZz and Emker Cel amongst a host of other fine local music, and the charity album Bags Of Love 6 is also out on Bandcamp, with Seahouse well represented as usual! All proceeds to the Barrow Foodbank.

Studio news....The AeroBees have completed a pair of new singles which they will release into the wild very soon....Emker Cel is putting the finishing touches to his new album....Prater Monks have a stash of EPs waiting to release....Insula go into the studio this month to begin a new 4-track EP....it's shaping up to be a busy Seahouse Summer.

We shall return soon, with news of Mark Docherty's debut album, and dates for single releases from all your essential Seahouse superheroes.

Until then, come and see us live, and keep in touch!

All at Seahouse Records. xx
